THOUGHT ON DIVINE

Life, a priority of things of the universe that is courtesy of an undoubtedly abstract source, is indeed ineffaceable. 'Life is systematically found everywhere and in everything including the dead'. 'A man's end of thought starts that of the Supreme Creator'. It is without doubt inexhaustible by man's intelligence, as it concerns existence in general.

The Supreme Being, supposedly a supernatural power, imperceptible foundation and clearly numinous underpinning, is a self-witness and knowledgeable to all creations. No tongue tells for precise, now and in time to come of the 'wheres', 'hows' and 'whats' of the creation. Where was the Supernatural being before and during creation? How was the creation coordinated? What and what were actually involved as materials in the creation?

Almighty God was and is blatantly celestial being during and after creation. It is obvious that a creator or an inventor cannot create while on the object yet uncreated. This is to imply that the being who created the whole universe must have -stayed somewhere outside this universe. What bothers mind is the question of 'where', 'how', and 'what' concerning the creation? As none can say whether space used during creation is now void or dismounted?

The creator of all creatures is really in total control of all in the universe and He alone is knowledgeable about events herein.

There has been ceaseless contemplates by man over existence in general. The thought and a subsequent search towards a result that in one way or the other, better humankind and his environment, remained progressive. The search for the secret behind the existence of creatures and the universe as a whole has not at all uncovered a generally accepted truth by all per say, and it continues. This drives us to the caption -philosophy and what it really is. Who are philosophers? And what do they see too?

The term philosophy is coined from Greek and denotes the love of knowledge or wisdom. Knowledge is indefinite as could be seen in its spread and increased nature in the recent times to embrace many other disciplines that do not at all rest on philosophy. The vast knowledge about various fields by the man in some two thousand years ago is not the same, as that of today's man and the same difference would equally be seen in years to come.

Aristotle is regarded as a premium philosopher and who act was titanic, as history never forgets. He is known prior to his discovery of ethical, political and poetical philosophy and was a leading scientist of those days before the emergence of Galileo. His greatness was particularly made known by his renowned two books -Physics and Heavens.

The scope of philosophy cuts across all fields of human endeavours. It could be found in areas like carpentry, architecture, computer, music, medicine, education, agriculture, chemistry, engineering, astrology and or poetry among others.

Definition

Philosophers in specific disciplines have been ceaselessly pondering and searching for, in the middle of other things, a generally acceptable definition of the subject as take but to no avail. Owing to this, many proffered likely views and definitions in their own perception, all attempted in giving it a clear-cut definition, yet it is still awaiting a distinct and generally acceptable one that could conjoin with all curious and great minds. The inability of a definition to satisfy requirements for acceptance by all is virtually due to the large scope and lack of collective concerns and agreement for choice of specific definition.

However, an effort is made here to give it a renewed touch as it could attract acceptance of the curious minds.

The concept philosophy is thus:

a systematic view, search and study to unearth a truth in a particular circumstance both seen and the unseen, aimed at adding colours to life among humanity and his environment.

It could be figured out of the definition as follows:

(a)    Study and critical analysis of a truth surrounding a circumstance.

In this instance, a lot of questions arise to mine a truth about the source of human and his knowledge, again this questions the degree of human knowledge as it embraces rationalism, idealism, realism, empiricism and lots more. It again asks to know how reliable it is. It tries to introduce a part or branch called Epistemology or Critical Philosophy. Questions to know the source of the universe and body of matters therein introduces Cosmology as a branch, which Aristotle referred to as Second or Physics Philosophy.

Series of questions are raised in line with politics (human's organization, activities and governance), ethics (human moral, actions and conducts), psychology (nature of human's mind and power of reasoning), and anthropology (man and the whole man), aesthetic (the value of man) to mention but a few. All these are geared toward knowing the truths surrounding circumstances.

There has been frequent use of the word truth here in this scenario. One may ask, what is truth? Truth simply means the coherence in the factual statement that stands very independent of all including beliefs. Actually, peoples' belief does not change a statement that contains facts and the actual fact. Often, truth does not favour most ears and eyes neither does it fear intimidation nor relegation from the receiving end. It only leans on what it acclaims or rejects. The theory that encircles this is referred to as Correspondence Theory.

(b)     Systematic peep on Metaphysical World.

There is a branch called theology or 'theodicy' in philosophy that deals with the nature, perfection and operations of the divine. It rather reflects on the relationship between beings in the universe and God the Creator. This tries to know how come the existing * nature and knowledge source of the Supreme Being -God that controls and dominates perfectly in spite of the presence of evil. This is what Aristotle called first philosophy.

(c)      Logical Concept

This is an aspect of Philosophy that pertains to correct manner of reasoning and what it takes to reason correctly. Really, logic is the basic nature of the word philosophy that exists which hatches it history from the effort of a great scientist of old and blessed memory -Socrates. This gave birth to a beef-up human intellectuality right there in Europe hence the atomic age. The clarifications about the mind in thinking, elements of mental operations, style of expression of ideas,' laws guiding correct thinking to avoid error and that which guides against nature of fallacies during discourse or arguments were all by Socrates. Fallacy exists in various forms that mediate between expressions carried out by people in discourse.

However, there is an undisputed claim by Aristotle on the discovery of logic (Plato, Pythagoras, SIQC) because of his written six treatises on logical matters that made wave afterwards, between 384-322 BC which was called the Organon. Logic can as well be called 'Dialectics' or 'Syllogistics'.

(d)     Reasoned Doctrine.

Belief or religion comes in because of its strong influence on humanity in the society. Religions such as Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, African

Traditional Religion and others, have great impact on behavioral patterns of many, the world over. There are some doctrines that dominate the minds and extent of reasoning of the true followers. These doctrines solely lean to the minds of the founders before and after formation. Christianity for instance, put into theirs from Greek virtues, that consist of temperance, prudence, justice, love, mercy and self-sacrifice. Islam has the same shape as Christianity, in that, they all emanated, almost from the same geographical location - the East and open out to the world over. However, fanaticism is the only addition as regards Islam.
